Functions

1. Center for Investigation and Processing of Survey and Mapping Data is a business unit under the Department of Survey, Mapping and Geographic Information Vietnam, assist the Department of State management in the field of building and managing infrastructure survey and mapping; Build and update the survey and mapping database to serve state management in the field of survey and mapping.

2. The Center for Investigation - Processing of Surveying and Mapping Data (hereinafter abbreviated as the Center) has legal personality, own seal and accounts in accordance with law; headquater office in Hanoi.; Headquartered in Hanoi City.

Missions

1. Advise the Director General of building regulations the Center's long-term, 5-year and annual plans in building and managing infrastructure, updating survey and mapping databases.

2. Build and update the national surveying original data system and the data system of national surveying networks; management and operation of basic surveying infrastructure projects; collecting and store data from the national network of satellite positioning stations.

3. Build and update the national geographic database; Establish and update the national topographic map system.

4. Monitoring and researching earth crust movements to serve natural disaster warnings and respond to climate change.

5. Fly aerial photography for basic surveying and mapping work.

6. Participate surveying and mapping work on administrative boundaries, standardizing geographic names and establishing administrative maps, thematic maps, and national maps.

7. Perform public services of providing information and data received from the national satellite positioning station network; Collect, pay, manage and use fees for exploiting and using information and data received from the national satellite positioning station network according to the provisions of law.

8. Participate in developing legal documents, standards, technical regulations, economic-technical norms, unit prices of products on surveying, mapping and geographical information as assigned by the Director General.

9. Organize the application and hand-over of technology in the field of surveying, mapping and geographical information as assigned by the Director General.

10. Participate surveying and mapping service activities according to the provisions of law.

11. Participation in international cooperation activities in the field of surveying and mapping; implementation of programs and projects of international cooperation as assigned by the Director General.

12. Organize the implementation of administrative reform according to the administrative reform plan of the Department of Survey, Mapping and Geographic Information Vietnam and the assignment of the Director General.

13. Management of organization, job positions, number of employees; officials, employees, finances, and assets under the Center's management according to the law and according to the decentralization of the Vietnam Department of Surveying, Mapping and Geographical Information; Carry out the responsibilities of the budget-using unit according to the provisions of law.

14. Statistics, periodic and extraordinary reports on the status of assigned tasks.

15. Perform other duties assigned by the Director General.

Center leader

1. The Center for Investigation - Processing of survey and mapping data has a Director and Deputy Directors. The number of Deputy Directors of the Center shall comply with the provisions of law.

2. The Director is responsible to the Director of the Department for assigned tasks and is responsible before the law for all activities of the Center; promulgate working regulations and manage the Center's activities.

3. The Deputy Director assists the Director and is responsible to the Director for the work areas assigned by the Director.
